ACT Parks, Conservation and Lands have kindly built a new beach for us at the main lake so we are now able to safely lauch and retrive boats. This is a fantasic improvement and make the venue very user friendly.

Run Day
Our next run day is this Sunday 17 Aug commencing at 9:00am. As it is going to be a cold one, we will run at the practice lake which will save me having to get up too early to set the buoys on the main lake.
Fund Raising Sausage Sizzle
Mal from Toyworld has offered the opportunity for the club to run a sausage sizzle at a promotional sale they are having on the Bathurst Race weekend in Oct (12 Oct I think – will confirm). This will be great opportunity for the club to get some funds together to purchase some of the equipment we need. This will need support from club members to lend a hand throughout the day. I’ll send out more details once we get things a little more organised, so just kept the day in mind for now.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
A reminder that the Club will hold it’s AGM on Saturday 30 Aug at 11:00am at the Queanbeyan Leagues Club. The committee elections will be held at this meeting so if you want to nominate yourself or another member for a committee position, please do so in writing to me (email is fine). If any member has an agenda item they wish to be discussed at the AGM, pass the details to me no later than 5:00pm 24 Aug 08. I will issue the agenda for the meeting on the evening of 24 Aug via email. All members are encouraged to attend the meeting to have a say and then join in for lunch at the bistro.

It is that time of the year; time for membership renewals which are due on 30th June.
Fees for the membership year 1 Jul 08 to 30 Jun 09 are $80 for Adults and $30 for Juniors (16 years and younger). The fee includes AMPBA membership, which provides public liability insurance.
A membership form can be downloaded from here, if you could all complete the form and return it with your fees no later than 30 Jun.

Alan and Warren were down the main lake on the weekend testing out the new ramp that Warren has built. From all accounts the ramp works really well and will allow members to enter the water and launch boats without tripping on the bank. As the ramp is portable, we may even be able to use it at the practice lake.
On behalf of the Association, I would like to thank Warren for building the ramp and his boss for donating the materials. This is an excellent bit of kit to have on our books.
If anyone has a spare 30 minutes or so and a whipper sniper, the edges at the main lake need a quick trim. If we keep on top of it, it won’t be a big job to clean up. I would head down but my whipper snipper self destructed last time and I haven’t had it fixed yet. Let me know if you can help out.

If you are heading past Yarrawonga during 22-27 April, drop in and have a look at the AMPBA Nationals. This looks like it is going to be huge even with plenty of action in Petrol, Nitro and Electric boat racing.
