The AMPBA have announced that the NSW State Titles will be held in Sydney 20-23 March. This is fairly late notice and no entry form has been released as yet. Details will be published here as they come to hand. If anyone wants to check out an AMPBA event, the 2008 “Battle of the Borders” is being run at the Mulwala Water Ski Park by the Yarrawonga/Mulwala Model Boat Club 14-17 Feb. Daniel, Dylan and I will be representing the Club at this event in the Petrol Mono, Tunnel and Sports Hydro classes (Note: we will be missing from our club practice day on 17 Feb). There are 57 Competitors and 173 Boats registered to race so it should be a great event. The 2008 AMPBA Nationals will be run at the Mulwala Water Ski Park over the period 22-27 April. This should be a huge event as well. There will be a club meeting held down at the practice lake a 1:00 pm on Sunday after we have finished running.
The purpose of the meeting is to confirm the club constitution so we can send off our application to be incorporated. We will also need to elect a member to fill the Treasurers position, as the club can not proceed without one.
If you have any ideas on how you want the club run, the meeting will be the place to have your say.
As it is past 1 Jan, AMPBA Fees for those who are not currently members is half price. So total membership, (including club fees) is $62.50 for adults and $20.00 for juniors. This will see your membership through to 1 Jul 08. Don’t forget to bring your completed membership form along on Sunday.

For all those interested in helping form our own Incorporated Model Power Boat Club here in Canberra, there will be meeting held next Saturday to get things started.
Venue: Queanbeyan Leagues Club
Date: Saturday 12 Jan 08
Time: 1:00pm
The aim to grab lunch and then go over the forms and fees required to get the club going. We will also need to hold an election to fill the committee positions that will be required to run the club.

Notice! Due to no Rescue boat being available for the scheduled 7 Apr 07 practice day, the date has been brought forward to Saturday 31 Mar 07. The proposed trip to the MBC of NSW Race day at Easter has been called off due to the non-availability of accommodation over the weekend. At this stage Sunday 13 May might be an option to try again.
