Safety Guidelines

In order for the association's race or practice days to be safe for all members and spectators, the following guidelines have been adopted:

  • All drivers MUST ensure they have the “right’ to use the RADIO FREQUENCY they are operating on.
  • Drivers may not turn their radio on unless they have placed a frequency tag on the Frequency board. If their frequency is in use they must wait until their turn for the right to use that frequency.
  • All drivers should check the operation of their radio and model prior to launching their boat.
  • No boat is to be started and carried to the pit area.
  • All boats are to be started on a table or other raised platform.
  • All boat stands should be fitted with an adequate propeller guard.
  • All Drivers should have a pit assistant. The pit assistant must be an AMPBA member and aware of all course conditions and AMPBA regulations.
  • Only AMPBA members are allowed in the pit area. No persons other than those running a boat, their pit assistant or contest officials shall be permitted in the pit area.
  • Boats are to travel the course in a clockwise direction only.
  • Boats launching or cutting the course must give way to boats already on the course.
  • All competitors and pit assistants must wear closed toed shoes while in the pit area or launching and retrieving a boat.
  • All tents, canopies or shade devices must be adequately anchored.
